Boot Key Harbor - Marathon Florida for a while

We negotiated the crab pot "auto-cross" (I guess that would be a "boat-cross") in the Hawk Channel from Rodriguez Key down to Vaca Key and Marathon Florida.   Not too much of a challenge normally, except that this trip was more than half done with radar as our only method of seeing where we were going, besides the chart-plotter.
We'll be here for a month or more...   We've got projects to accomplish, and we've also found so many cruiser friends here....    It's been wild, and we've only been here a couple of days.

We'll post some photos later... in this section...   We're going to see "True Grit" tonight at the theater (local).
We missed the flee market down at Big Pine Key.... but from what our friends told us.. that did make it (they had a car).... it wasn't really worth the effort.   HUMM???
Ok.

more later...

Back to Miami Beach

Sailed back to Miami Beach... so we could be sure about getting Ruth to MIA in time for her flight back to Hartford CT (non-stop flight).   We walked the Beach again from South Point up to 14th street.   Had a beer or two at Finnegans.  Then Ruth, and Susan went shopping again on Lincoln Rd Mall.

Sydney kisses for Ruth.  :)

Tomorrow we'll sail back into Biscayne Bay, and meet up with friends (some going to the Bahamas, some down the keys)...

Happy New Year - Miami Beach - Dinner Key - No Name Harbor

Happy New Year!!!    We celebrated with Ruth, and fellow cruisers, in Miami Beach.   The picture below is from our New Years Eve walk on Lincoln Road Mall.
Then we retired to the s/v Double Exposure for further celebration, and to watch the fireworks.

Susan, and Ruth in Coconut Grove (with one of their new symbols the peacock).

We spent a few days at Dinner Key, and now we're anchored at No Name Harbor at the southern end of Key Biscayne.
Tomorrow we'll sail back up to Miami Beach; enjoy that town one more day.... and get Ruth to MIA on Sunday AM.
